Earthbound Civil started with a tipper truck, a bobcat and weekends spent working around Toowoomba. From those humble beginnings it has grown into a trusted civil construction and earthmoving company, running a modern fleet of Kobelco, Yanmar and CAT machinery, backed by Western Star and Volvo trucks.

The company was founded by Mark Cartmill, a qualified boilermaker with a lifelong passion for machinery, and built on hard work, determination and a commitment to doing the job properly. Born in Brisbane and raised on the family farm along the Cunningham Highway at The Gap, Mark has spent most of his life operating and maintaining machinery. The classroom was never where he thrived, but the workshop and the worksite were.

As demand for his work grew, so did the business, and Mark rebranded it as Earthbound Civil to reflect its expanding capabilities. Today the company delivers civil construction, earthworks, drainage and infrastructure across Brisbane and South-East Queensland.

What sets Earthbound Civil apart is its people. Mark has built a team of skilled operators and tradespeople who take genuine pride in their work, and the business is backed by strong relationships with builders, developers, councils, geotechnical engineers and clients. It keeps growing while holding on to the hands-on approach and work ethic it was founded on.
